Volunteers

We are extremely lucky at Abbey School to have a fantastic team of volunteers who come into school to share their time and skills with our children. They contribute to different areas of learning, helping with individual reading, maths and group activities. The children benefit enormously from working with different adults. Not only does it benefit their skills in learning, it also boosts their self-esteem and confidence having extra individual attention.

Some of our volunteers already have links with the school, being parents or grandparents of pupils, others have links through the church or community. We are always keen to have more people involved so if you feel you have time to share we would be thrilled to hear from you. The only requirements are that you fill in a short form, checking you are not barred from working with children, and that you are keen to share your time and enthusiasm with young people. There is no requirement to offer a fixed amount of time or to commit to coming every week. All involvement is valued. ❤️
