Mrs Sanderson & Mrs Jones
Our Reception class provides a nurturing and inspiring start to every child’s educational journey. We are proud to offer a calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore the world around them. Our fantastic staff team works closely with each child to understand their individual needs, interests, and learning styles. By following the EYFS framework, we carefully plan opportunities that support all areas of development and encourage children to become confident, independent learners. We believe that strong relationships, high-quality teaching, and a caring atmosphere enable every child to thrive and reach their full potential.
Mrs Sanderson is in school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and loves teaching the youngest children in our Reception class. She enjoys helping children to grow in confidence, develop new skills and discover a love of learning.
A keen reader, Mrs Sanderson loves sharing stories with the children and bringing books to life through discussions and activities. Mrs Sanderson helps to make every day in Reception exciting and engaging.
We have had a fantastic time exploring our first topic of the year! The children enjoyed talking about their families and friends, learning about their five senses, and sharing their likes, dislikes and favourite nursery rhymes. We have also spent lots of time exploring our outdoor environment, observing the changing seasons and noticing the signs of autumn all around us. It has been wonderful to see the children settling into school life, building friendships and developing their confidence through play, exploration and learning.
Reception have had a wonderful time exploring all the changes that autumn brings! We have loved going on autumn walks, collecting colourful leaves, conkers and acorns, and noticing the beautiful colours around us. The children have enjoyed using their senses to investigate our autumn treasures and have had lots of fun creating their very own autumn kitchen, making pretend soups and potions using natural materials. We have also begun our exciting journey with numbers, enjoying counting, recognising numerals and exploring amounts through fun, practical activities. Alongside this, we continue to develop our fine and gross motor skills through threading, cutting, mark-making, climbing, balancing and outdoor play. It has been lovely to see the children’s curiosity, confidence and enthusiasm growing as they explore, learn and discover together!
Mrs Jones is in school on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays. She is a valued member of our amazing PTFA, helping to support the school community in many ways.
Mrs Jones loves being creative and enjoys making up stories, creating artwork and exploring the outdoors. She is passionate about encouraging children to use their imagination, express themselves creatively and develop a love of learning through play and discovery.
