Welcome to Year 2!
A very warm welcome to Year 2! I’m Miss Dymock, and I am delighted to be teaching your children this year. I am passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels happy, safe, valued and excited to come to school each day.
Year 2 is such a special year. It is a time when children grow in confidence, independence and curiosity, while continuing to develop the foundations they need for their future learning. My aim is to make every day a positive experience, filled with opportunities to explore, discover, create and challenge ourselves.
We are very lucky to have Miss Gaertig (M-Th) and Mrs White (F) supporting our class. Together, we work as a team to get to know every child as an individual, celebrate their achievements and support them to reach their full potential.
Our classroom is a place where kindness, respect, resilience and a love of learning are at the heart of everything we do. We encourage the children to have a go, make mistakes, ask questions and be proud of their progress. We want them to know that their ideas matter and that there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Reading is a particularly important part of our Year 2 journey. We want to inspire a genuine love of books and stories, while helping the children become confident and enthusiastic readers. Alongside this, we enjoy bringing our wider curriculum to life through practical activities, creativity, exploration and lots of opportunities to learn together.
Most importantly, we want Year 2 to be a year full of happy memories, new experiences and lots of learning.
We are so excited for the year ahead and look forward to working closely with our families to make it a wonderful year for every child.
