We have created a beautiful Spiritual area in our classroom.
We go there during the day to spend time reflecting, thinking and being calm and peaceful. We always enjoy this area and have a doodle book to write and draw our thoughts.

In our design and technology, we have designed and made vehicles using a range of junk modelling.
We had great fun exploring how things attached together and tried to include an axle so that the wheels could turn!
We researched how toy cars were made and drew pictures of the cars from different angles.

We drew a design of what our own model will look like including labels and a list of resources.

We had a fantastic time during our recent Victorian Day. We have been learning all about Victorian toys, so loved being able to play with some of them. We changed our classroom so that we were in rows, the boys one side and the girls the other. We wrote on chalk boards and even had a 'Dunce' hat ready in the corner! We had to call Mrs Stone 'Miss' and had to stand up when ever we spoke or if an adult entered the classroom. It was great fun, but we prefer our class how it is now!
In the afternoon we walked up to the Shaftesbury Gold Hill Museum. It was incredible seeing all of the wonderful artifacts and even getting to play with some more Victorian Toys!
Look at our beautiful Christmas Cards! :-)

SPRING TERM
Dentist Visit!
We were very lucky to have a visit from the dentist today.
She told us all about our teeth and how important it is to brush our teeth twice a day. She also showed us how to brush properly and we had a go on different models. It was great fun!
Frozen Planet
In our new topic, we have been exploring creatures which live in Artic conditions. This week we focussed on Penguins. We have explored the work of Author and Illustrator Rob Biddulph and followed his instructions to draw penguins.
We have discovered an egg in our classroom!
We have created models of penguins using air drying clay.
When they were dry we painted them and then varnished them.
We love our penguins!
Numbers Day!
We had a fantastic day in Yr1. We began by measuring and making different penguins to the correct size. We were amazed how tall Emperor Penguins are!
In the afternoon, we explored making different numbers. First using playdough and then cookie dough. We were able to take our baked cookie numbers home!
