The Taj Mahal
Standing majestically on the banks of River Yamuna, the Taj Mahal is synonymous to love and romance. The name “Taj Mahal” was derived from the name of Shah Jahan’s wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and means “Crown Palace”
We traced half a picture of the Taj Mahal onto tracing paper and then had to draw in the other half and decorated it with pen to cause a stained glass effect.
PE Dance Topic Summer 2021
This half term, year 3 have been showing off their groovy moves in our Matilda dance unit. Each week we have explored different characters in the story and how we can represent them through dance. The children have worked extremely hard to produce this short performance of their work and they should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved!! I know I am! We hope you enjoy their hard work.
The first group of soloists represent the character of Matilda in the classroom and worked hard to incorporate a prop into their dance. The next two groups worked hard to represent the contrasting characters of Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. (see if you can tell which is which!?) The last few groups choreographed their dance to represent Matilda discovering she had powers and how that might look as a dance. All of their hard work has resulted in this amazing piece of work. Well done year 3 – you are superstars! Have a lovely half term, Mrs Ferre 🙂
